Two-car Collision outside of Walmart
As the rains began to subside on Saturday around 11:30 am there was a two-car collision outside the Walmart. The Granbury Police Department, Granbury fire-rescue, Ems and COP (citizens on patrol) responded the accident. The accident occurred on the south east exit of the Walmart parking lot that runs between Taco bell and Schlotzsky’s. The exit is hard to navigate and many drivers don’t realize that the far right lane while traveling south on watersedge drive runs out quickly and is a right turn only lane entering the parking lot and gives you access to several stores. Apparently this was a T-bone accident and the driver of the Toyota 4runner was struck on the driver’s side by the white buick traveling southbound on Waters Edge. The impact was hard enough the airbags were deployed.
Both drivers were transported to Lake Granbury Medical Center, however neither had life-threatening injuries. Citizens on patrol for Granbury directed traffic while the officers and EMS evaluated the scene and prepared the patients for transport
Fire and rescue help clear the debris.
